FOOD MATTER
2016 - Present
Food Matter is a series of experimental projects exploring ways to repurpose food waste into new materials using bio-based processes. Maize Matter initiated the collection with a conceptual project, creating hard composites and structured materials from corn husks, with an aim to eliminate damaging agricultural activity in developing countries worldwide. In her more recent projects, Avocado Matter and Kombucha Matter, Polly responds to the effects current trends and increased demand have on agricultural communities and the environment by utilising non-edible matter into new materials and processes that have potential to be used for fashion and interior design purposes.
